Several of our Listening Fund partners are working towards increasing the role of young people in the governance of their organisations. It isn’t always an easy process, and our partners are working with young people to determine what is the right set-up on a case-by-case basis. They are all agreed, however, that if done well, it will bring significant benefits to the young people and the organisations too.
There is growing interest in this work, not least this November as it coincides with Trustees Week and the #iwill campaign. Jo Wells, Director of the Blagrave Trust, has written a blog about their experience of young trustees and the issues in the wider sector which can be read here.
The Social Change Agency, with funding from the Blagrave Trust, is running a Young Trustees project, and you can find out more information about this work here.
